spotlight: Neill Beavers |
 |
Neill
Beavers is our immediate past president,
now serving as assistant governor. Neill's
road to this prestigious role in the district
came by a Google search on the Internet
for service clubs in Casselberry just four
years ago. Carlos Giraldo, then membership
chair for the club received Neill's email,
answered it and sponsored him to the club
in 2002. He is a native Floridian - born
in Jacksonville with both parents from
the deep south (Alabama & Georgia).
He capped his higher learning with a BBA
and MBA from Emory University in Atlanta,
Georgia. Neill spent quite a number of
years after graduation as a banker in senior
mangagement positions both in human resource
management and later managed the retail
side for three large commercial banks.
After leaving the banking field—about
15 years ago, he became an independent
residential mortgage loan originator. Neill
is a grandpa twice over from two daughters
who both live in Birmingham and are professionals
in their own right - one is an optometrist
and the other has a Masters in Library
Science. He attributes joining the Rotary
Club of Casselberry to the friendliness
of the club as demonstrated by Dwayne the
first time he stepped into the club. He
feels that "my first interest and responsibility
was for community service because to me
that is the most rewarding avenue of service.
I look with pride on helping our club partner
with English Estates. I feel like through
this association helped kids that really
needed our help."
