  • President’s Message
    Gary Teramae

It has been an eventful 60 days into my year as your president. We have had several issues in that time that has resulted in differences of opinion and the outcomes have not always gone our individual ways.

Some of you may not have agreed with the method chosen to resolve a situation or vote on a topic, but I feel that it is you, the club member, that should make the ultimate decision. What I feel is critically important is that we keep our focus on what we are here for, the less fortunate than ourselves.

The recent catastrophe on the Gulf coast has caused me to personally reassess what is important in my life and to feel blessed that the Lord has given me the life that I have. I felt an incredible amount of fellowship last week with the work that Bill did in Houston and the money that Hank raised for 2 shelter boxes for Katrina victims. It is efforts such as these that make me proud to be a part of this Club and a true honor to be your president. Let’s continue to move forward and help those that are less fortunate.

    Gary

Bill gave us a brief update last week on his personal experience in the relief efforts after Hurricane Katrina. He met with several district governors from Louisiana during his visit.

The word is out on the club's efforts in getting money donated for the shelter boxes. Hank reported receiving $2,000 from attendees at a networking meeting he attended recently.

Please send your donations for the shelter boxes to RCOC Foundation - c/o Dan Freeman ~ 128 Oxford Road -Casselberry, Fl 32730-2115

    Entertainment Book

Walt had mentioned that when we sell the Entertainment Books the individuals we sell to need to call Entertainment Books to activate their dining cards.  When activating, they will need to use a group number that has been assigned to us.  That number is 84344.

Neill gives us a talk on "Tales of a native son" today
    Neill Beavers

Our immediate past president, Neill is a native Floridian hailing from Jacksonville. He completed his formal education on the GI Bill from Emory University with a BBA and MBA.

He immediately jumped into the business world as a commercial banker. He held senior positions as Human Resource Director for five bank holding companies. He also at times managed Marketing Research, Retail and Branch Management, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Strategic Planning for large banks or bank holding companies.

After many years in the banking version of “musical chairs” (banks were bought up year after year by other banks), he tired of moving every few years or so and decided to settle down and entered the Mortgage Brokerage business fit his skills and temperament. Neill's slogan "Putting Your Interest First" describes the ethical standard he sets for himself in an industry well known for taking unfair advantage of clients. Neill focuses entirely on the residential side of the business. He is familiar with and offers all types of loan products.

Today Neill will talk some about his business and developments that might impact your lives or the lives of people you know. He will also talk about one of the ways he uses his spare time (other than with Rotary)
