    Steve Arch

Philly, the city of "Brotherly Love." This is where Steve was born, raised and went to school. He is a graduate from Temple University with a major in in science and took the knowledge learned and applied it as a science teacher at the Community College of Philadelphia.

But it was not exactly in his genes. Reason: his father was an automobile dealer and his mother was a marketing director for Hosiery Corp. This explains his jump into the jewelry sales business. For fourteen years he traveled around the country showing and selling high end antique and estate jewelry.

Traveling can wear you down and Steve decided to apply his knowledge and contacts with famous people as the Development Director of an HIV/AIDS agency in Philadelphia. He held this position for five years before getting the "jewelry bug" again and taking a job with Maitland Jewelers two years ago.

Steve was sponsored to our club by Neill. He says that he joined because "I wanted to find a place to do some volunteer work and meet some people with similar interests." Since joining, he has been involved with Take A Kid Fishin' and now is co-director of Club Services with Denise.

Of special note...Steve's daughter Jackie is getting marry October 1st. Let's give him a great "congratulations dad" when you see him at the next meeting.

    Meals on Wheels

During the Rotary year of 1994-1995, past president Bob Reid introduced the club to Meals On Wheels. Ten years later, the Rotary Club of Casselberry continues to support this program in large part to Bob's wife Elaine.

President Gary has designated Elaine Reid to be the Friend of Rotary for her unwavering support of Meals on Wheels. Kathleen & John Cresswell, Pat & Duane Bailey and most recently Mary DePew are always out there with Elaine making the rounds every week.

Many others in the club have volunteered their time in delivering a hot (or cold) meal to an elderly resident in Casselberry over the years. Today, Ms. Carter will give us an overview and success of the program here and throughout the country.
