    Ron Ange

Born and raised in frigid Rochester New York, Ron is a graduate of the Rochester Business Institute. He has spent the last thirty years in Financial Services with twenty four of those years with SunTrust and six as his own boss as a Financial Planner.

Ron first came to the Rotary Club of Casselberry in 1977 when his sponsor, William (Jeff) McVieh invited him to the club. He states that he joined the club because “he wanted to make a difference in Casselberry. The only organization that looked like it could make a difference was Rotary.”

Ron has been a board member for many years, treasurer for both the club and the foundation and has chaired every avenue of service. He was president-elect and became president from 1987- 1988. Ron says “I was president of the club when we brought in the first women member. I got several phone calls from very unhappy Maitland Club members for my action. I think it was the best thing for Rotary and the community we serve. Rotary is for service above self and I guess the Maitland club never got that message.”

Ron left the club for several years but kept coming back as a guest. Finally, this past July, Ron committed again to be a member of the club although his residence and business are not in the immediate area of Casselberry. We are lucky to have him back!

Ron is married (wife Terri) has three children – Karen, Kyle, Brian – all married and he is blessed with three grandchildren – Alex, Kristen and Isabella.

Thanksgiving presentation this week by Rhoda Rollin
    Thanksgiving

Rhoda White Rollin will be telling us the story of her Pilgrim great-grandmother, Susanna White Winslow. A long time member of the Society of Mayflower Descendants, she wrote the story about ten years ago and has performed it innumerable times since.

She is a Dividend Community Resource Volunteer with the Seminole County Public Schools and is kept busy in the fall informing elementary school children about the Pilgrims and their great contribution to our government through the Mayflower Compact.

Besides being secretary for Seniors For a Better Community, Rhoda has served four years on the Advisory Board of the Casselberry Senior Citizens Center. She is an active Citizen on Patrol and last month received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Seminole County Sheriff's Office for the educational research project she recently completed at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility; but she still feels her greatest claim to fame was her service to her country as a Lt. in the Army Nurse Corp in the South Pacific during WWII.
