Born and raised in frigid Rochester New
York, Ron is a graduate of the Rochester
Business Institute. He has spent the last
thirty years in Financial Services with twenty
four of those years with SunTrust and six
as his own boss as a Financial Planner.
Ron first came to the Rotary Club of Casselberry
in 1977 when his sponsor, William (Jeff)
McVieh invited him to the club. He states
that he joined the club because “he
wanted to make a difference in Casselberry.
The only organization that looked like it
could make a difference was Rotary.”
Ron has been a board member for many years,
treasurer for both the club and the foundation
and has chaired every avenue of service.
He was president-elect and became president
from 1987- 1988. Ron says “I was president
of the club when we brought in the first
women member. I got several phone calls from
very unhappy Maitland Club members for my
action. I think it was the best thing for
Rotary and the community we serve. Rotary
is for service above self and I guess the
Maitland club never got that message.”
Ron left the club for several years but
kept coming back as a guest. Finally, this
past July, Ron committed again to be a member
of the club although his residence and business
are not in the immediate area of Casselberry.
We are lucky to have him back!
Ron is married (wife Terri) has three children – Karen,
Kyle, Brian – all married and he is
blessed with three grandchildren – Alex,
Kristen and Isabella.
