| President Al rings the bell for the first time |
 |
|
President Al officially rings in the new Rotary year for the Rotary Club of Casselberry.
Escorted by two young ladies, President Al made a grand entrance to the lectern accompanied by "Hail to the chief" in the background.
The club celebrated on this date the Independence of the nation with decoration, singing the national anthem and America the beautiful.
Our own revolutionary day historian, Kathleen gave us a minute by minute account of Paul Revere's famous ride announcing the British landing who fired the first volley towards the eventual independence of the American colony which we know today as the United States of America.

Maria gave us a personal account of her trip to the Dominican Republic and her visit to the Emiliano Tardif Orphanage in the city of Santiago.
This is an international project the Rotary Club of Casselberry in conjunction with other clubs, was able to raise over $20,000 in foundation money to assist.
More detail information on this project will be forthcoming as soon as the funds are disbursed and received by the local Dominican Rotary Club to start the process.

| Calendar project hits midsummer doldrums... |
 |
|
The Rotary Casselberry Community Calendar for 2007 is under way.
This is the fifth edition of the calendar which could not have happened without the support the club members.
The success of this project lies on the membership. The temperatures in Orlando have risen and we lost some momentum.
Contact Mike Schaffer for advertising rate information and any leads on businesses/professionals you feel may want to advertise in the calendar.
It is the opportune time before other organizations begin their full fledge donation campaigns in the neighborhood.
