Our one and only octogenarian!
The club celebrated Duane's 80th birthday and many bragged about our "elder."
Happy birthday, Duane. We all love 'ya.
In the news... President Al had a large contingent of members from our club last Saturday at the district's foundation seminar.
The seminar, led by Foundation chair, Charlie Rogers was divided into several topics: Foundation, permanent fund/annual fund, Group Study Exchange (GSE), scholarships, scholarship alumni, polio plus and grants.
Steve Robinson was one of the presenters.
Other Rotarians from our club who attended were: Ben, Lupe, Neill (club's foundation chair), Carlos, Denise and Sandy.
The breakout sessions were very informative and allowed everyone to learn more about the money we donate to either the annual fund (Paul Harris Fellows) or the permanent fund.
Paraphrasing Charlie Rogers, "we donate, not until it hurts but until it feels good." And, we definitely left knowing that our dollars are being converted to make our world a better place to live.
This is membership extension month.
Bob Nettles, our membership chair will be seeking your support in spurting the growth of our club.
Just in the last year, the Rotary Club of Casselberry has increased by 21%. Can we keep the same rate of growth this year?
It is up to us - let's invite friends, colleagues whom you believe to have the Rotarian spirit to one of our meetings. Work with Bob to make their experience meaningful.
