| Club Assembly on Membership - led by Bob Nettles |
 |
|
Our membership chair, Bob Nettles has been working very hard putting together a membership development plan for the club.
A tiny peek into his presentation - collateral materials for all of us to hand out throughout the year including very much needed business cards.
Bob attended the district membership seminar on the 26th of August at the West Orlando Club and in the process picked up lots of ideas from Rotarians in other clubs.
President Al supported Bob's attendance by being there himself as well as president-elect Mike Schaffer.

| Governor Chuck's down to earth visit last week |
 |
Governor Chuck gave the club a two part visit last week.
On the 29th of August he, Governor's Aide Jim Greene and Assistant Governor Mike Genco met with our board of directors to discuss the club's projects and fund raisers.
A dinner followed at Steak & Ale where everyone shared fellowship.
The next morning, Governor Chuck came with his lovely wife Harva. Assistant Governor Mike introduced him formally to the club members prior to his talk.
His address to the club was simple. First he complimented the club for its excellent programs and then he went on to explain how the district is helping the individual clubs. "My job is to promote your projects" he stated.
Governor Chuck also said that the district "is looking for a few good people and he stressed this as a responsibility for the clubs.
An important initiative this year is the district's new web site and its database. He gave us a quick demonstration as to how to access the information and encouraged everyone to log in and complete personal information. The database is a great tool for clubs to use and report information to the district and Rotary International.
In conclusion, Governor Chuck stated that we should all be striving to be Rotary Moles - always string to get members; supporting the foundation; focus on literacy and always having fun (entertainment) while involving our families in the Rotary spirit.
His parting thought to us: There are "two types of Rotarians - doers and thinkers and doers LEAD THE WAY!
