Rick Baines maps "hidden points" in the club's annual giving ![]()
District chair for Annual Fund Giving, Rick Baines made a presentation to the club last week on how the club can use unused points accumulated over the years from moneys contributed to the annual fund.
The goal is to use the club's unused points (now at 13,000) and convert them into Paul Harris Fellows with the addition of a few more dollars.
Why can this help the Rotary Club of Casselberry? The answer is simple: Forty percent of all moneys given to the annual fund this year by club members will come back in three years through a program known as revenue sharing.
These moneys are unrestricted and can be used by the club to fund local projects or to use it as a base for matching grants in international projects.
As with any map, it requires a bit of road sign interpreting. President Al will be leading us to understand the process better and there is a scheduled seminar at the West Orlando club next Saturday (October 14) starting at 9 a.m.
President Al becomes a benefactor Witnessed by the entire club last week, President Al became a Benefactor of the Foundation (Permanent Fund).
About the program:
You may become a Benefactor to The Rotary Foundation by making the Permanent Fund a beneficiary in your estate plans. Simply notify the Foundation, in writing, of your bequest and have a codicil written in your will.
President Al has written a codicil which can be used by anyone wishing to donate $1000 from their estate and prepare one tailored to you at no charge.
How to do it: Go to http://Rotary.org and sign up today. Make sure you choose SHARE (District Designated Fund) for the spending portion of your gift - this would benefit the club as well.

Michelle Thatcher, Executive Director of Seminole Soil and Water Conservation District will be visiting our club on Wednesday.
Her program will be on showing us how to landscape our yard in a water-wise friendly way, which will decrease water usage and in return may save us money in our water bill.
Free wildflower seeds will also be given to those in attendance while supplies last.
