| GSE Australian Team is back home - It is now our turn... |
 |
The Group Study Exchange team from Australia left a week ago after visiting our district for a month under the leadership of GSE Team chair Clark Gwin (Seminole County So.)
The Australian team left a great impression with our district for their openness, joviality and spirit headed by Rotarian Allan Church (standing in the middle) from district 9550 in northern Australia.
It is now our turn to put our team together and visit their district in the spring of 2007.
Clark said "I have been honored to be the team leader for our return exchange to Australia next March. I want ours to be of the same high caliber as Allan Church's Australian team. To do this we need top notch team candidates. I need your help to seek out good people, between the ages of 25 and 40, who will be a credit to Rotary and our Country. It would be great if you could promote this with your clubs, business and community contacts."
Our team will depart on March 31 and arrive back in Orlando on May 6.
Information about GSE and team member applications are available at www.Rotary.org. It's a simple search. Completed applications need to be signed by the sponsoring club president, then mailed to Clark.

Thanksgiving History Answers:
- Pumpkin pie - The Pilgrims didn't have any domesticated cattle, so they didn't have any milk or butter. They did eat boiled pumpkin, though
- Spuds were thought to be poisonous. This misconception stems from the time of Queen Elizabeth I. Her cooks weren't familiar with the almighty spud, so they tossed the potatoes and and boiled the stems and leaves instead. The royal family members became very ill, and potatoes were banned for more than a century.
- Thomas Jefferson - can you believe it?
