The Essay Contest Event - a resounding success 
Master of ceremonies, Hank Lander holds microphone for Danielle Samelson first place winner from Sterling Park Elementary
Over ninety people attended the Essay Contest Event held at the Fellowship Church hall on Wednesday, January 17.
Twenty-one children received a certificate of achievement and a check from the club. First place winners were given an opportunity to read their essays.
Hank, master of ceremonies read excerpts from all of the children's essays which in many cases were quite profound and right on target with the theme: "Lead the Way."
Our thanks to Sandi Solomon who coordinated the event for the club and the many volunteers who helped along the way as judges and meeters/greeters at the event.
Homestay guest reception at the Giraldo's You are invited to attend a farewell reception at the Giraldo's home for our Homestay couple from Denmark - Kristen and Jens Erik Steen.

Next Wednesday's program: Vocational talks / meet Homestay guests from Denmark The program next week will be vocational talks from Harley Parkhurst and Elizabeth Savincki.
We will also hear from District Governor Elect Jens Erik from District 1440 in Denmark and meet his lovely wife Kirsten.
Board of Directors votes unanimously to approve new member 
The board of directors approved unanimously Elizabeth Savincki for membership.
Elizabeth is owner of Frasier Enterprises and is a personal fitness trainer - a job she has had for over 10 years. Her place of business is in Altamonte Springs. Her sponsor is Carlos.
She will be giving us more insight into her vocation next week.
