By Ryan McCaffrey Frank West returns to Willamette Mall in Dead Rising 4, and we wanted to the actual photojournalist around for a while to chronicle the history. Please join us all The fall of long on IGN First as we turns out one exclusive new feature after another on the latest iteration of the open-world, tongue-in-cheek, baseball-bat-in-hand zombie success adventure. This page will be updated all month long as each new feature rolls out!

“It’s four player co-op. That takes put in place the mall. You play as four survivors who will be also presented in the story as well. You get a a bit more backstory on them, as well. You go into the mall and take part in crazy tasks, trying to survive.

“The construction is, the four of you begin the game together, you start in a safe house; you get a kit, get some weapons, get yourself all set to go; we unlock the doors, it’s killing, mayhem, craziness lots of interesting missions that take advantage of our systems… You have to get to the safe house to survive the finish of the day ”

Dead Rising 4 sees the player go back to a zombie-infested world in the hopes of completing the final chapter of Frank Western world; the former protagonist who’s now a professor at a community college.

During our hands-on time, we discovered Frank has received somewhat of a makeover during his time off. Gone is the hunching, slightly odd-looking man from yesteryear, and in turn, Frank now looks almost like a cleaner version of The Walking Dead’s Negan.

That said, Capcom Vancouver studio brain Joe Nickolls reckons the person you play as is still Frank on the inside: “He’s still a super smart-ass, ” says Nickolls. “The humor is still there. He’s still Frank. ”

If there’s one thing players have come to expect from the Deceased Rising series, it’s over-the-top zombie-slaying antics and a love of the ludicrous. According to Capcom’s May well Nickolls, that fun and frantic attitude is remaining in place for the series’ latest entry, Lifeless Rising 4.

Honestly, we weren’t really worried that the Dead Rising series was going for a turn for the dramatic or anything like that. The game was announced at the Xbox 360 E3 presser recording with a trailer that showed off all of the expected antics. Plus, might got the return of Frank West, a series character who has always appeared to relish the opportunity to go street-rat-crazy on the undead.
